What ClauseFort Is
ClauseFort is an AI-powered informational tool that analyzes contract documents and provides automated commentary on their contents. It is designed to help freelancers and independent contractors understand the contracts they are asked to sign by identifying potential risks, flagging unusual clauses, and providing informational context about standard contract terms.
What ClauseFort Is NOT
ClauseFort is not a law firm. It is not staffed by lawyers. It does not employ attorneys. No attorney reviews the analysis generated by the Service.
ClauseFort does not provide legal advice. The analysis provided by ClauseFort constitutes legal information, not legal advice. Legal advice is tailored to your specific situation, jurisdiction, and circumstances by a licensed attorney. ClauseFort's analysis is generalized information generated by artificial intelligence.
Using ClauseFort does not create an attorney-client relationship. No confidentiality privilege, duty of care, or fiduciary obligation exists between you and ClauseFort.
Limitations of AI Analysis
ClauseFort uses advanced artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) to analyze contracts. While the AI is highly capable, it has inherent limitations:
- The AI may make mistakes. It may misinterpret clause language, miss contextual nuances, or produce inaccurate analysis. No AI system is infallible.
- Jurisdictional limitations. Contract law varies significantly across jurisdictions. The AI may not account for local laws, regulations, court precedents, or statutory requirements specific to your jurisdiction.
- Context limitations. The AI analyzes the contract text in isolation. It does not have access to prior agreements, business context, verbal promises, industry customs, or the broader relationship between the parties.
- Not a substitute for professional judgment. A licensed attorney can ask clarifying questions, consider your specific circumstances, and provide advice tailored to your situation. AI cannot replicate this.
When to Consult a Lawyer
We strongly recommend consulting a qualified attorney licensed in your jurisdiction in the following situations:
- High-value contracts where significant money is at stake
- Contracts involving complex intellectual property arrangements
- Employment or contractor agreements with non-compete or non-solicitation clauses
- Contracts involving international parties or cross-border obligations
- Any situation where you are unsure about your legal rights or obligations
- Contracts in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government)
- When the ClauseFort analysis flags critical-risk issues
ClauseFort is designed to complement — not replace — professional legal counsel. Use it to identify potential issues and prepare informed questions for your attorney.
No Attorney-Client Relationship
Your use of ClauseFort does not create an attorney-client relationship, a lawyer-client privilege, or any duty of confidentiality beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy. Information you upload is not protected by attorney-client privilege.
Counter-Language and Suggestions
When ClauseFortsuggests alternative contract language, these suggestions are presented as "commonly used alternative language" for informational purposes only. They are not legal recommendations. They may not be appropriate for your specific contract, jurisdiction, or circumstances. Using suggested language without legal review is at your own risk.
Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) Compliance
ClauseFort is designed to comply with Unauthorized Practice of Law prohibitions. The Service:
- Provides "information" and "analysis", never "advice"
- Uses language such as "may be concerning" rather than "reject this"
- Never guarantees outcomes or predicts legal results
- Frames counter-language as "commonly used alternative language", not as instructions
- Prominently displays this disclaimer throughout the Service
Limitation of Liability
ClauseFort is not liable for any losses, damages, costs, expenses, or consequences of any kind arising from:
- Decisions made based on ClauseFort's analysis
- Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the AI-generated analysis
- Contracts signed or rejected based on ClauseFort's output
- Failure of the analysis to identify specific risks or issues
- Any use of suggested counter-language or alternative terms
You assume full responsibility for all legal decisions you make.
